French Filly Headed Stateside

Wekeela (Fr) (Hurricane Run {Ire}) (lot 34) will head Stateside to be trained by Chad Brown after she was purchased for €1.1 million by Michel Zerolo on behalf of owner Martin Schwartz at Saturday’s Arqana Arc Sale. Wekeela, already Group 1-placed and the winner of this year’s G3 Prix Chloe, is entered in Sunday’s G1 Prix de l’Opera, but Zerolo was uncertain whether the 3-year-old would take up that engagement.
